Hastings Community Little League: Registration


Please review the following information before registering online through the links at the end of this page.


New Player
If your son or daughter is a New Player they must reside or attend a school within the HCLL league boundaries. Before registering, please confirm that your son or daughter is eligible to play at Hastings Community Little League by looking at the "League Boundaries' page.

It is MANDATORY for all New Players to Hastings Community Little League to register online and also attend one of the following 'In-Person' registration sessions:


  • Wednesday February 1, 2017 6:00PM-8:00PM;
  • Saturday February 4, 2017 1:00PM-4:00PM;

Both sessions held at Hastings Community Centre located at 3096 East Hastings Street.

Please bring the following to the 'In-Person' registration:

  1. Proof of Age - Birth certificate or passport;
  2. Proof of Home Address - Utility, cable or telephone bill, insurance records, driver's license, etc.;
  3. Proof of School Attended - If a player is basing his/her eligibility on attending a school within HCLL's league boundaries, then a completed school enrollment form must be presented for each season played. Please  download the form here: School Enrollment Form.



Players Requiring KidSport Assistance
KidsSport is a non-profit organization which provides financial assistance to eligible families in order to register for amateur sports such as baseball. Players in Rookie, Minor and Major that have had their registration paid for by KidSport must still pay the $50.00 refundable Uniform Deposit at registration.


Players requiring KidsSport financial assistance must register at an 'In-Person' Registration listed above along with a completed and signed Kidsport Application form (links to forms below).

PLEASE NOTE: If applying for KidSport assistance and your child is a New Player at HCLL, then you must provide the required documents as described above under "New Player".


Returning Players Now Living Outside of HCLL Boundaries
Returning players who have moved and live outside the geographic boundaries for HCLL are eligible to remain at HCLL if you can provide the following:

  1. Three (3) pieces of identification to show proof of that your previous home address was within HCLL's geographic boundaries;
  2. Proof your son or daughter's current school address is within HCLL's geographic boundaries by submitting a Little League School Enrollment Form.

It is MANDATORY that documentation be provided at one of the 'In-Person' registration sessions noted above.


       Little League Age Rules

Little League Baseball now uses an Age Determination Date of August 31 save for exceptions to players born in 2005.

To determine your son or daughter's Little League Age, please see below or refer to the 2017 Little League Age Chart by clicking on the link: 2017 Little League Age Chart.

Blastball Division - 4 year olds (age of player as of August 31 in the year of the upcoming season).

T-Ball Division - 5 and 6 year olds (age of player as of August 31 in the year of the upcoming season).

Rookie Division - 7 and 8 year olds (age of player as of August 31 in the year of the upcoming season).

Minor Division - 9 and 10 year olds (age of player as of August 31  in the year of the upcoming season).

Major Division - 11 and 12 year olds (age of player as of August 31 in the year of the upcoming season).  

NOTE: Players born on or before April 30, 2005 will continue to use the previous Little League age determination date as of April 30 for the 2017 season. Players born between May 1, 2005 and December 31, 2005 will use the previous Little League age determination date of April 30 for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. For further clarity, players born between January 1, 2006 and August 31, 2006 must register in the Major division.

*Payment by Cheque

If paying by cheque, it MUST be received within 14 days from your date of online registration or the registration will be cancelled.


*Uniform Deposits

Rookie, Minor and Major division players are required to pay a $50.00 Uniform Deposit when registering. which will be refunded when the uniform is returned at the end of the season.

6 Year Old Tryouts for Rookie Division

6 year old players (age as of August 31 in year of current season) must register in the T-Ball division but may tryout for the Rookie division if they can demonstrate the required level of skill, ability and maturity to play in this division. Priority will also be given to player safety. Any player interested in trying out for the Rookie division will need to attend a Rookie player evaluation session. Assignment of Players to Divisions
The final assignment of 7 to 12 year old players to the Rookie, Minor or Major divisions will be done after the evaluation process is completed. Please go to the "Player Evaluations" page for more information and this year's schedule.
Residence or School Eligibility  

New players should refer to the  “League Boundaries” link on the homepage to see if your home address or the address of the school your child attends is within our league boundaries to ensure your child is eligible to play at Hastings Community Little League.
Teammate Requests
“Teammate” requests for team placement are accepted in the Blastball and T-Ball divisions, but NOT in the Rookie, Minor and Major divisions. “Sibling” requests for team placement will be considered at all levels for players eligible to play within the same division.  You will be asked to sub

Refund Policy
There is a $25.00 non-refundable fee for all withdrawals to cover our registration costs. Division fees and deposits will be refunded (less the non-refundable fee) for individuals who withdraw before teams are formed for their division. No refunds will be issued after the opening day of games. Refunds for medical reasons will be pro-rated (less the non-refundable fee) based on when the illness/injury occurred within the season. A medical note will be required.

  1. First choices for two Emergency Contacts provided should be parents or legal guardians of the player. Emergency Contact #1 must be a parent or legal guardian of the player.
