ABOUT US

Hastings Community Little League (HCLL) is a non-profit sports organization established in 1953 which provides baseball programs in five divisions for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 12. The regular season starts with practices in March and games are played from early April until mid June each year. All players are also eligible to try out for All-Star and Select teams which compete in games and tournaments starting in mid June.

Operating under the umbrella of Little League International, the program is unique among youth sports in that there is a highly-structured, highly-principled and internationally consistent set of rules and governance. Little League charters are granted for specific geographic jurisdictions with HCLL holding the charter for the geographic area that covers parts of East Vancouver and North Burnaby.

Hastings Community Little League is a member of District 6 in BC Little League which has more than 12,000 youth participating in 6 districts across BC each year. Little League Canada includes over 45,000 baseball and softball players and operates as a region of Little League International based in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Little League International has over 3 million youth playing on over 150,000 teams in over 6,500 leagues in 80 countries worldwide and is the world's largest organized youth sports organization.

The hard work of our players, coaches and volunteers has also led to significant on-field success. Our 11-12 year old Major All-Star teams won the Canadian Little League Championship in 2009, 2012 and 2016 earning the privilege to represent Canada at the Little League World Series in Williamsport Pennsylvania.

HCLL Vision Statement:
Provide children with a safe, fun, and positive oriented baseball program that demonstrates the ideals of good sportsmanship, fair play, teamwork, dedication, competition, courage and respect for others. As a non-profit organization, Hastings Community Little League relies exclusively on community volunteers and parents to operate our league.

Little League Mission Statement:
Little League Baseball is a non-profit organization to help and voluntarily assist young boys and girls in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being through the medium of baseball with guidance and exemplary leadership.
