
ABOUT THE MAJOR DIVISION
The Major Division represents the highest level of play within HCLL’s core Little League program and carries greater expectations for focus, commitment, and responsibility. It follows official Little League rules and provides a competitive environment for experienced players who have developed strong fundamental skills.
Majors focuses on preparing players for advanced levels of baseball while reinforcing sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and respect for the game. It also prepares players for potential advancement to higher levels of baseball, including competitive youth and school-based
programs. Players are encouraged to take greater ownership of their development, preparation, and performance.


Player Placement & Evaluations

Placement within the Major Division is based on age, skill level, playing experience, safety considerations, and formal evaluations. In some cases, players may be placed outside of their age group when appropriate. Evaluations are used to ensure players are challenged appropriately while remaining safe and supported.
Players compete under full Little League rules and field dimensions, with live player pitching and pitch count management. Games place greater emphasis on strategy, execution, and situational awareness, while still balancing competition with continued instruction and development from coaches. In addition to regular league games, Major also includes interlock games are played during the regular season other Leagues to provide additional development opportunities.
Each player must provide their own glove, helmet, and a cup/jill is required for safety purposes. Team bats are provided if needed. Players are welcome to use their own bats, but these must be “USA Baseball” approved (not USSSA).
Each player will receive a team t-shirt, a league baseball hat, and individual and team photos. “Teammate” and “sibling” requests are not accepted for the Major Division.

Major teams will practice or play three times a week, generally on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Practice days may change to align with coach and player availability.

INTERLOCK GAMES
In addition to league games, interlock games are played during the regular season within District 6 against teams from New Westminster Little League, South Vancouver Little League and Trout Lake Little League.
