ABOUT THE MINOR DIVISION
The Minor division is for 9 and 10 year old players (age as of August 31) in the year of the current or upcoming season.

The Minor Division marks the transition to full baseball. Players pitch to one another, and games more closely resemble standard Little League play. Both AA and AAA tiers provide full baseball experiences, with differences in pace, expectations, and competitive intensity. The Minor Division
is designed to prepare players for Majors while continuing to emphasize development, safety, and enjoyment. Bases are set at 60 feet, and a regulation game is six innings. In addition to regular league games, Minor also includes interlock games are played during the regular season other Leagues to provide additional development opportunities.
Each player must provide their own glove, helmet, and a cup/jill is required for safety purposes. Team bats are provided if needed. Players are welcome to use their own bats, but these must be “USA Baseball” approved (not USSSA). Each player will receive a team t-shirt, a league baseball hat, and individual and team photos. “Teammate” and “sibling” requests are not accepted for the Minor Division.
During games, parents will be required to assist with field set-up, field clean up, managing the dugout, scorekeeping, and any other duties the coach needs help with.

Player Placement & Evaluations
Placement within the Minor Division is based on age, skill level, playing experience, safety considerations, and evaluations. Players may be placed above or below their age group when appropriate to support development and enjoyment. Evaluations help ensure players are placed in
an environment that best supports their growth and readiness.

Format & What to Expect
Minor teams will practice or play three times a week, generally on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Practice days may change to align with coach and player availability.

MINOR AA

Minor AA provides players with the opportunity to play full baseball while continuing to develop skills in a supportive, instructional environment. This tier is well-suited for players who are newer to live pitching or who benefit from additional development time within a real-game setting.
Minor AA uses full-time player pitching, with no pitching machine or coach pitch. Players focus on learning pitching fundamentals and arm safety, hitting against live pitching, defensive positioning, teamwork, and understanding game situations and rules. Coaches continue to teach during games, helping players learn responsibilities and make sense of in-game situations. Development and learning remain the priority over results.

MINOR AAA

Minor AAA is designed for players who are ready for a more competitive and demanding version of baseball. This tier serves as the primary pathway toward Majors-level play and challenges players to perform with greater consistency and awareness.
Games in Minor AAA feature full-time live pitching and closely follow standard Little League rules. Players are expected to demonstrate stronger pitching and hitting skills, improved defensive execution, and a growing understanding of game strategy and situational play. Games are played at a faster pace and with higher intensity, while development remains an important focus.

INTERLOCK GAMES
In addition to league games, interlock games are played during the regular season within District 6 against teams from New Westminster Little League, South Vancouver Little League and Trout Lake Little League. These games do not count towards the HCLL regular season standings.
