ABOUT THE MINOR DIVISION
The Minor division is for 9 and 10 year old players (age as of August 31) in the year of the current or upcoming season.

MINOR AA
In this division, players are evaluated and selected onto teams at the start of the season. This will be for players moving up from Rookies who require a slower transition to live pitching. This division will help players further develop their skill, and also their love for the game.

MINOR AAA
In this division, players are evaluated and selected onto teams at the start of the season. Batters face live pitching and a maximum of nine players are on the field defensively for each inning. Players are rotated through the infield and outfield positions and all players bat through the order.

Players will receive a team jersey, a league baseball cap, socks and individual / team photos. If you choose to purchase your own bat for the season, please make sure that they are USA baseball approved.

Practices are usually held once or twice a week and the game schedule includes regular league games and interlock games with other leagues.

INTERLOCK GAMES
In addition to league games, interlock games are played during the regular season within District 6 against teams from New Westminster Little League, South Vancouver Little League and Trout Lake Little League. These games do not count towards the HCLL regular season standings.
PLAYER EVALUATIONS
All Minor division players must go through an evaluation process to ensure that players are placed in the appropriate division based on age, ability, skill level and safety considerations.

Attendance at evaluation sessions is mandatory in order for a player to be placed on a team.

NOTES
Some 9 year old players may be assigned to play in the Rookie division based on their skill / ability level and evaluation results. A 9 year old determined to be skilled enough to play in the Minor division cannot choose to play in the Rookie division. This applies even if the player has a sibling in the lower division.

Some 10 year old players may be invited by league officials to try out for the Major Division. In these cases, the following criteria will apply: player must have played the previous year in the Minor Division; player must be one of the top players in their age group; there must be available spots in the Major division; must be recommended to play up and invited to try out.
