UMPIRING AT HASTINGS COMMUNITY LITTLE LEAGUE
Hastings Community Little League has a strong tradition of training and supporting youth umpires. Typically drawn from our players—but open to anyone—umpires may begin training at age 9 and can work games once they have completed an initial training session offered by the league.

Players may umpire in any division below the one in which they play. For example, Major Division players may umpire Minor and Rookie games, and Minor Division players may umpire Rookie games.

GETTING STARTED AS AN UMPIRE

Must be at least 9 years old to begin training

Complete an initial training session offered by the league

Attend the mandatory annual umpire clinic at the Hastings Community Park Clubhouse

Open to both players and non-players in the community

Adults are welcome and encouraged to participate

MAJOR DIVISION PLAYERS
Can umpire Minor and Rookie division games
MINOR DIVISION PLAYERS
Can umpire Rookie division games
NON-PLAYERS
Anyone aged 9 and older can train to umpire games in appropriate divisions

NEW & EXISTING UMPIRES MUST ATTEND
March 14 9:15pm to 11:15am, March 15 10:15am to 12:15pm, March 30 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Adults are also welcome to attend!
All umpires must attend our annual umpire clinic held at Hastings Community Park Clubhouse.
Clinic for both new and returning umpires, all divisions.

UMPIRE PAY RATES
Rookie, Minor, and Major Game Umpires must sign in at the Hastings Park Concession to confirm they have umpired their game.
