Fred Ritchie 2026

The 2026 Fred Ritchie Minors Tournament was another unforgettable weekend of baseball at Hastings Community Little League, showcasing some of the very best young talent from across the Lower Mainland. With 12 teams competing from Hastings, Highlands, Langley, Coquitlam, Little Mountain, and Trout Lake, the tournament delivered an incredible atmosphere from first pitch to final out.

Over the course of the weekend, the competition was fierce, the crowds were energized, and the level of play proved that BC Minor-age baseball has never looked better. Under perfect sunny skies and ideal baseball weather, players, coaches, and families enjoyed an outstanding few days at Saunders Field.

One of the highlights of the tournament was the exciting Skills Competition, where players showed off their talents in throwing, hitting, and running events. Congratulations to the Highlands Expos for taking home first place in the competition.

Hastings Little League had an especially memorable tournament run, with all four Hastings teams battling their way into the semi-finals — an incredible achievement for the host league. The Hastings Athletics advanced all the way to the championship game, facing off against the Coquitlam Iron Pigs in a thrilling final that many are calling some of the best house baseball Saunders Field has ever seen.

In an exciting and tightly contested matchup, the Iron Pigs ultimately came away victorious, but both teams delivered an unforgettable championship performance that had fans cheering until the final out.

A huge thank you goes out to all of the volunteers, coaches, families, and supporters who made the tournament possible. Special recognition goes to Tournament Coordinator Pamela Matterson for organizing and delivering one of the best Fred Ritchie tournaments Hastings Little League has ever hosted.
