PRACTICE PLANS & TIPS FOR T-BALL

Tips from Cal Ripken on how to engage parents and set the tone for a positive baseball season.

All coaches are required to adhere to our Coaches Code of Conduct at all times.

Coaches may also want to consider using TeamSnap which is a free online service that allows for easier communication with your team. You can sign-up at: www.teamsnap.com.
SAFETY & FIRST AID
Player safety is our top priority. All coaches must:
  • Complete Little League's online safety training (free)

  • Maintain a first aid kit at all practices and games

  • Complete incident reports for any injuries

  • Enforce proper equipment use (helmets, cups, etc.)

  • Monitor field conditions and weather

  • Know emergency procedures and contact information

EMERGENCY CONTACT: Call 911 for serious injuries, then notify Angela Burleigh, Safety Officer at (555) 123-4567.
CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK

HCLL requires a completed Criminal Record Check for all Team Coaches prior to the start of each season, which includes team practices. HCLL will not accept Criminal Record Checks completed for other organizations.

All coaches can apply for a Criminal Record Check through a secure online link to the Ministry of Justice (BC Government) website. To apply, go to: https://justice.gov.bc.ca/eCRC/ and follow the steps provided. You will be asked to provide the access code for Hastings Community Little League: NRQZ68BJSC.

When applying online, please pay close attention to the multiple-choice questions regarding your financial status. The site is completely secure and managed by the BC Government.

COACHING SUPPORT
HCLL will provide our coaches with all the resources, training  and support they require before and during the season. This will be covered in more detail at the coaches meeting prior to the start of the season. HCLL has a Director of Coach and Player Development who is dedicated to making sure your coaching experience is a positive one.
