REQUIREMENTS
HOW VOLUNTEERS SUPPORT OUR LEAGUE
Powered by pride, passion for our local community and love of the game Hastings Little League is a volunteer-run community baseball organization. Your participation is vital to ensure our baseball programming creates memorable learning and sporting experiences for all participants. We are excited by the growth and interest in our programs, therefore, we are continuously working to expand and build our volunteer base to meet these demands. Your volunteer participation will help provide the best baseball experiences for all children in our league—as you create great connection and community spirit!
In addition to fulfilling the necessary Game Duties by volunteering at their children’s games there is a contribution/volunteer requirement to support League initiatives is required for the season.
FAMILY CONTRIBUTION REQUIREMENT (League Support)
In addition to team-level duties, families with players in the T-Ball, Rookie, Minor, and Major divisions are required to contribute 12 hours per family toward league-wide initiatives during the 2026 season.

This is approximately four shifts of three hours each.

League initiatives may include:
-
Tournaments and special events
-
Concession shifts
-
Field and facility maintenance
-
Committee support
-
Other league operations

If you have more than one child in the league, your total family commitment remains 12 hours.
OPT-OUT OPTION
We understand that some families may be unable to fulfill the Family Contribution Requirement.

During 2026 registration, families may choose to opt out of the 12-hour requirement for a fee of $150. This financial contribution helps support league operations in lieu of volunteer participation.

Volunteer hours will be tracked throughout the season. Families who do not complete the 12-hour requirement and did not select the opt-out option at registration may have the $150 fee applied to their account.

Please note: Families who select the opt-out option are exempt only from the League Support Requirement. Team-level game day responsibilities still apply.
