SAFETY & CONDUCT
Creating a safe, respectful, and positive baseball experience for every player.
SAFETY & CONDUCT

Hastings Community Little League is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and positive environment for everyone who participates in our league — players, parents, coaches, umpires, volunteers, and spectators.

Youth baseball is about learning, development, teamwork, and fun. The way we conduct ourselves on and off the field has a direct impact on every child’s experience. We expect all members of our community to demonstrate sportsmanship, respect for others, and a commitment to safety at all times.

All participants are required to read and adhere to the league’s policies, including our Safety Guidelines, Behaviour & Discipline Policy, and Complaint and Grievance Policy. These standards exist to ensure that Hastings remains a place where players can grow in confidence, skill, and character.

Failure to follow league policies may result in corrective action, including removal from the field or facility and, in cases of repeated or serious violations, further disciplinary measures as determined by league officials.

Together, we create a safe, respectful, and positive baseball experience for every player.

PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT

Hastings Community Little League asks parents to understand that the way they conduct themselves has a direct impact on the league’s ability to provide a positive experience for the children who participate. We believe the goals of youth sports are learning and having fun in a positive environment, and we ask that parents use only positive encouragement toward their child, their child’s teammates, coaches, umpires, and opponents.

All parents are required to read and adhere to the HCLL Parents’ Code of Conduct. Any violations may result in a parent being asked to leave the ballpark, and repeated violations may lead to further disciplinary action as determined by league officials.
I THEREFORE AGREE:
-
I will remember that my child plays for his or her enjoyment, not for mine.
-
I will always encourage my child to play by the rules.
-
I will always encourage my child to respect the coaches, their teammates and the umpires.
-
I will never criticize or question the umpire’s judgment or direct negative comments towards them.
-
I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices, unless I am one of the official coaches of the team.
-
I will always address any questions or concerns to the coaches or officials at the appropriate time, defined as after games or practices and away from the players.
-
I will do my best to be a supportive, involved parent without interfering with the operation of the team.
-
I realize that I have enrolled my child to have fun, develop their baseball skills and have a positive team experience and will do my best to support these objectives.
-
I will remember that children learn best by example.
-
I will applaud the good plays by both my child’s team and their opponents.
-
I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other players for making a mistake or losing a game.
-
I will teach my child that doing one's best is as important as winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game.
-
I will respect and show appreciation for the league officials, volunteers and coaches who give their time to provide sport activities for my child.
PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT
Hastings Community Little League expects all players to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, citizenship, and courtesy at all times. This expectation extends beyond practices, games, and other league events to include time spent at the park before and after games, as well as at other public venues.
